Over the three days of the event, our team participated in large numbers, involving visitors in a series of meetings and activities that allowed them to get a close look at the most recent projects that the Alfa Acciai Group companies have launched on the themes of social and environmental sustainability, caring for the local community, training, and employees’ involvement.

This year, our participation had four main focuses. On the environmental front, the very recent calculation of the Organizational Carbon Footprint, i.e., the certified carbon footprint of the activities of all the Group's production sites (watch a video here), and the publication of the most recent Sustainability Report . On top of that the two projects dedicated to the youngest, the citizenship of the future: Alfa Academy and Alfa Gaming.

Alfa Academy is the training experience developed in collaboration with ITS Machina Lonati. It is aimed at boys and girls up to 25 years of age and involves them in a one-year training and work project at the end of which they will have acquired the knowledge and professionalism necessary to deal with the installation and maintenance of steel production and processing plants. The apprenticeship will start on 1 November 2023, alternating periods of internal training at Alfa Acciai, external training at ITS Academy Machina Lonati and external workshops, and a period of on-the-job training and work directly in the company's production departments.

Alfa Gaming, has proved to be a winning bet. Exploiting the logic of gamification, our Environment team developed an application dedicated to the youngest, who were present in large numbers at the event thanks above all to the fundamental contribution of Smart Future Academy, of which we are proud to be a partner, which allowed visitors to learn more about our production processes with regard to environmental sustainability and circularity.

During the event, our Group's Sustainability Report was among the finalists of the Oscar Awards of Sustainability Reports, for the category 'large enterprises'. The initiative is supported by Confindustria Brescia with the aim of acknowledging companies that have made concrete efforts to implement ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) reporting with the goal "of highlighting the objectives achieved, communication transparency and challenges for a sustainable future".
