Alfa Academy aims to train and enable young people to acquire the vocational skills necessary for a rapid integration at work. It is the result of a collaboration between ITS Machina Lonati and Alfa Acciai and is designed to train individuals to work in the installation and maintenance of plants, particularly those involved in steel production and processing.

The apprenticeship course has a duration of one year and will start on 1 November 2023, alternating periods of internal training at Alfa Acciai (544 hours) and external training at ITS Academy Machina Lonati, with practical lessons at external laboratories (456 hours), and a period of work in the company (1,092 hours), with a first-level apprenticeship contract.

The aim is to provide young people with the opportunity to consolidate their theoretical knowledge and apply it to the processes of Alfa Acciai, a leading company in the production of rebar and wire rod. At the end of the course, the students will master the technical knowledge to maintain and install plants. These skills are constantly evolving, particularly in the areas of innovation and digitalisation, and are essential for playing increasingly strategic roles in the company.

For the above reasons, we have launched this training project together with ITS Machina Lonati, to give a group of young people the chance to develop professionally in our company" commented Vincenzo Sidoti, Head of Human Resources at Alfa Acciai.

The project will involve a maximum of 12 students between 15 and 25, resident in Lombardy, with a diploma or qualification from a professional institute. At the end of the course, the boys and girls involved will have the opportunity to continue their career within Alfa Acciai.

On Friday 21 July, a first open day was held at ITS Machina Lonati (the second is scheduled to take place at Alfa Acciai in September), to present the contents and opportunities of the of the course to interested young people.
